The Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to students from across the United States. The sole fundraiser for the organization is its annual Awards Gala in May.

This years Awards Gala was held last night, Saturday May 21st 2005, at the Marriot Marquis in NYC. There was a tribute to the emmy award winner Ernie Anastos. Anna Vissi was the musical guest. Sofia Milos from CSI: Miami was a presenter. As well as many other industry people were there to support.

Anna Vissi came on at around 10:30 and opened up singing Eisai. She then sang, Ego Moro mou, Treno, Agapi Ipervoliki, Eimai Sta Pano Mou, Psixethelia, Call Me, and closed singing Dodeka.
Ernie Anastos got up and danced zebekiko with her which was a classic... very funny and of course the stunning Sofia Milos danced with her also.

I must say the best part of the performance was at the end when Nick Katsoris, who was the chairman of the event, grabbed the microphone to thank Anna, and he said "Anna, I am going to say this once again, we WILL see you at the grammys." After he said that, she grabbed the microphone and said, "Well all I know is that I dont need a grammy because all of you (pointing to all the guests) are my grammys."
