Interesting news emerging as of yesterday. Greek broadcaster's original idea of internal selection seems not to be chosen after all. The idea of a national selection is the most possible scenario at the moment. The reason is that off the record the record labels of Minos EMI and Sony BMG are already making moves and preparations for a national selection with the following artists: Tamta, Sarbel, Vanesa Adamopoulos, C:Real. While the last name is not yet confirmed to oikotimes.com, the sources claim that the three names are already looking for a song, not clarifying though how the procedure will take place.
Some say that the singers will submit a song of their own. Some say that a compsoer will be internally selected. While ERT remains silent with no confirmation, nothing can be sure on the procedure. Recently a debate emerged on the web presenting praises to Michalis Hatzigiannis for his potential internal selection as the composer. Eurofans' Yahoo Group in Greece preferred though Dimitris Kontopoulos as the composer in a recent poll by far from any other option. No date, or no procedure has been decided. The most likely scenario of course will end up with the televoting (and SMS voting) along with a jury to decide the 2007 Greek entry.
we emphasize there is no confirmation on behalf of ERT
Cyprus: Last minute hitch Evridiki has not signed contract
Eurovision-greece reports today that having contacted CyBC, there may be a last minute complication with Evridiki. They say that there she does not agree with some of the terms of the contract to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki and so far, the contract remains unsigned.
As for the rumors claiming that the Cypriot song will be partly or entirely in French, CyBC said that they have heard no songs yet whatsoever, so there is no foundation at all to this information.
CyBC confirmed that there will be no national final for Cyprus this time. Last year, there were a lot of heated discussions and unpleasant rumours about the results having been rigged to ensure that Anette Artani won the event, something that CyBC is keen on avoiding this time.
The fact remains that Cyprus needs to be very careful and choose wisely because – due to Annet Artani’s 39th place in Athens- they find themselves having to face 28 countries in the most difficult
